Giving directions

When you travel to another city or another country, you sometimes need to ask for directions to find the way to your hotel, the shopping area or a restaurant. So, if you don’t want to get lost when you travel abroad, you will have to learn and practise some expressions to give and ask for directions in English.

Asking for Directions

Listening Practice

In order to improve your listening comprehension it is very important to do a bit of listening regularly. Even if you don’t understand everything, listen to the same audio file several times, and try to pick some words or expressions. Then, try at least to get the general idea or main ideas.

Apart from doing comprehension exercises, you should also listen to the radio or watch television in English in a relaxed way, just to hear how English sounds in real situations and to improve your pronunciation, stress an intonation.

So, if you want to get some practice and improve your English, visit our listening section.
